In 2022 Emma began to collaborate with artists, Jo Lamb and Isobel Smith when they were given an opportunity to show their work together. They decided that a residency was the best way to get to know each other and find a way to link their practises in some way. In the absence of any funding, they conjured an imagined foundation that would fund their wildest dreams, The Fondamento Dello Scherzo.
 
Their first imagined residency took place in Japan, where they responded to the Japanese world of Yokai, a collective term for ghosts, spirits, demons and monsters.

Since then they have held two imagined residencies in the Sussex village of Slynde, a fictitious place, discovered at the bottom of dried up reservoir.
